Q. How old do you have to be to get tattooed?
A. You must be at least 18 years of age to get tattooed in Britain.
Q. What if I am under 18 and have parental consent?
A. It is actually illegal to tattoo a miner, and is considered an offence even with parental consent.
Q. Does it hurt?
A. This is possibly the most commonly asked question and the answer is simply yes it will hurt, but everybody feels pain in different ways, it's a very similar level to leg waxing. Ladies please note you may notice the sensation of the tattoo could be amplified if you are getting work done the week before and during you're menstrual cycle.
Q. How much is it to get tattooed?
A. We charge £100 per hour, and have a minimum charge of £50. Design and drawing fees apply for bespoke tattoos.
Q. What should I bring to the consultation?
A. Whether you book an appointment or drop in we advice that you bring pictures and references with you so we can get a good idea of the design and style you want. Please bring hard copies and not pictures on your phone.
Q. Can you draw a design up for me?
A. Due to the length of time it takes to research and design, additional charges apply for this service, there is also a waiting time of 12 months for design services.
Q. Do I have to book an appointment?
A. Yes please note that we are appointment only.
Q. How do I book an appointment?
A. Unfortunately we are unable to book you an appointment or give quotes over the phone, by message or email, while you are welcome to email us images, ideas and general enquiries, you need to come in to discuss your tattoo in order for us to look at body placements, take measurements and estimate how long the tattoo will take.
Q. Do I have to pay a deposit for my appointment?
A. Yes, no appointment can be made without a 50% deposit , this will secure the time needed for your tattoo, any changes of design will need 48hrs notice or will be classed as a cancellation.
Please note that all deposits are non-refundable, a credit note will be given as long as at least 48 hours notice is given, also being late for your appointment by 30 minutes or more is classed as a cancellation.
Q. When I go for my tattoo what should I wear?
A. Wear something comfortable and loose so that it can be moved easily to expose the area of skin to be tattooed, wear old clothes as you will get ink on them and tattoo ink stains permanently.
Q. How long does it take for a tattoo to heal?
a. Tattoo healing times can vary greatly from person to person. Most people are healed within 2 weeks, others can heal at a slower rate and take a little longer.
Q. What if I need to get a touch up of a tattoo done at Maz Ink?
A. Touch ups are free if you get them done a maximum of 6 weeks after you had the tattoo. please note that if you book a touch up and then don't turn up without the 48 hours notice then you will have to pay.
Q. Can I get a tattoo anywhere on my body?
A. We only tattoo hands and necks if you are heavily tattooed, we will not tattoo genitals or faces.
